Breast Cancer Awareness Month at West Linn Aesthetics Near Portland

Raising Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, supporting those affected by breast cancer, and emphasizing the importance of early detection. As a community, we come together to honor survivors, support those currently battling the disease, and spread knowledge that can lead to earlier diagnoses and improved outcomes. At West Linn Aesthetics, Breast Cancer Awareness Month holds special significance. Our owner, Jerilyn Hanson, is a proud breast cancer survivor who has bravely shared her story to inspire and educate others. Read her story here: https://westlinnaesthetics.com/jerilyns-breast-cancer-story/.

Jerilyn’s Story

Jerilyn’s breast cancer journey began in September 2022, when she discovered two abnormal lumps during a routine self-exam. After undergoing numerous tests and a biopsy, she was diagnosed with breast cancer just a week later. Thankfully, the disease was caught early, resulting in a positive prognosis. Though her journey was not easy—Jerilyn endured months of challenging treatments and faced both physical and emotional hurdles—her experience highlights the critical importance of mammograms and regular self-exams in improving the chances of early detection. Now a proud survivor, and after losing her mother to the same disease, Jerilyn is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for those who have battled, survived, or lost loved ones to this all-too-common disease. By sharing her experience, she hopes to educate and encourage others to take better care of themselves and each other. Jerilyn, we commend your strength, resilience, and your continued willingness to share your story with the community.
