Medical spas offer a variety of treatment types. Med spa treatments differ from plastic surgery because they are minimally or noninvasive. While med spa treatments and plastic surgery procedures often address the same aesthetic concerns, med spa treatments offer a less aggressive approach for people who are unwilling or unable to undergo surgery. For example, we offer the ArqueDerma® liquid facelift instead of a surgical facelift. It offers similar results and a rejuvenating affect by stimulating your bodies natural collagen production. A surgical facelift gives more dramatic results, but involves incisions and significant downtime.

It's very important you know what to look for in a medical spa. With so many med spas all over the place, you want to ensure you're visiting a qualified and experienced practice. Getting answers to the following questions helps to determine the quality of the med spa you're considering:

• Is the med spa supervised by an involved medical professional?
• What kinds of services do they offer and how much experience do they have performing those services?
• What do their online reviews say and how many reviews do they have?
• Do they have customer service that makes you feel comfortable and confident in their care?
• Are their facilities pristine?

In almost no circumstances does medical insurance cover Botox® or other medical spa treatments. In certain instances, insurance may cover Botox® for sweating. You should reach out to your insurance company if you suffer from hyperhidrosis and want to seek treatment via Botox® injections.

Anyone who works at a med spa CANNOT perform treatments. Performing laser facials, injections, and other types of med spa treatments requires appropriate training and certification and should still be overseen by the medical professional.
