7 DAYS BEFORE Treatment:

  • Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications like Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve.
  • Avoid herbal supplements such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules.

24 HOURS BEFORE Treatment:

    • Refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages.

One Sculptra treatment session typically lasts about 15-60 minutes, on average, and results last up to 2 years. When coming to the office for your treatment, please ensure that you do not have any makeup, creams, gels, or lotions applied to the treatment areas. To enhance your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied as needed. Your provider may also massage the treated area(s) to ensure a smooth and even correction, which may result in temporary, minimal redness to your skin.

After the Treatment

After 24 hours, you can resume exercising and apply makeup. However, it’s important to avoid extended exposure to UV light until any redness or swelling has subsided. Make sure to use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when outdoors.

Additionally, massage the treated areas in a circular motion five times a day for five minutes each, for five days following the treatment.

If you experience mild tenderness or discomfort, you may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Applying an ice or cold gel pack to the treated area (avoiding pressure) can help reduce swelling and the potential for bruising.
